A late start today but not too much on the menu so all was well. Zoe got up and got breakfast going while I enjoyed the warmth of my sleeping bag although the nights are not as cold as they were a few days ago.
We both needed a shower and since our campsite doesn’t have any, we went up the road to the one that has them. Jedediah Smith campground has the nicest showers we have seen so far and at $.25 a minute, they don’t break the bank! All showered and feeling fresh we went for a little walk to the river amongst the big redwood trees.
Next was the drive though the forest, a dirt road meandering through the large trees. Plenty of photo stops and a few walks looking up at these amazing giants shooting straight up to the sky.
The road took us back into town where we stopped for lunch followed by a half hour ride down the coast to the “tour through tree”. This one is on native land and they went and cut a bit hole through it so that tourist like us could, at the cost of $3 per motorcycle, drive through it. Sad to cut a hole in such a nice tree, but the hole was cut, the damage is done and we might was we’ll be tourists! (Tree is still very much alive)
Back up the coast to Crescent City, supermarket stop and back home to our little tent in the woods.
Nice and easy relaxed day.
Yeah, once in a while it’s good to scrub off the mushrooms from your bodies isn’t it ? 😉
Magnificent giant trees some are twisted from down to up ! Amazing.
Any kind of animals around ?
No bad news about the bikes which is good news !
Ready to drive down to San Francisco and visit !
Expecting some special events ….

Was this the day-off or the the day after the day-off?
It looks relaxed enough to be an off-day!
Driving through a tree makes you tourists? Because you had to pay for it?
I think your touristing since a bit over six months now, or is there another definition?
Whatever, if you like it, do it and keep on doing it!
Enjoy it, baci on Sunday
