We woke up fairly early to an upset squirrel squawking at us from the trees, I guess we were in his territory! We didn’t even bother putting the fly up last night so had a nice view of the sun coming up from between the trees. We made hot drinks/breakfast then packed up our makeshift campsite. During the night it got quite cold but once the sun was up it promised another hot day.
We got going, past mirror still lakes and…. A campground only 5mins up the road. Oh well! Our first stop today took us to Molson Ghost town, just a few miles from the Canadian border was an old farming settlement that had an impressive outdoor museum/buildings.
After that we checked out the indoor museum, met some locals then carried on into the heat. A gravel road took us right next to the Canadian border, then looped down to a paved road which took us into town to the ‘official’ border crossing.
A very quick an easy time through customs again. Once in Canada we enjoyed A/C at the visitor centre, got our maps then had lunch at a busy pub in town.
By this time it was definitely around mid thirties and it was uncomfortable and sticky for riding in. We rode through bone dry valleys, rocky mountains and lots of fruit orchards and roadside stalls. We finally stopped at one and filled the remaining pannier space with fresh fruit.
We carried on, searching for a campground near the river, but due to Labour weekend the first several were full. We passed by a river swimming hole/beach, turned around and went for a swim there. Such a nice and well worth it detour!
Once refreshed we headed to Princeton, bought dinner at the supermarket, then found a camping site by the road and river near town. Not as far as we had hoped, but we figured it was enough of battling the heat for one day.
There you go haha back via Osoyoos Canada !
The warning sing is funny and being in 2 countries at the same time too !
The swimming hole/beach was just what you needed and such a nice remoted little place.
I read it’s getting warmer so be prepared when you take the South direction after Vancouver !
Have a nice day and see you in Vancouver !! Back to crowd and noise …be ready haha.

There seems to be less of a plan in the last days riding, or did I miss something?
Well, just riding for fun and where the roads seem nice enough if always pleasant, time permitting.
Back in Canada, heading for Vancouver. That’s a big city, full of people and cars, maybe noise and even trafic lights. Beware!
Yesterday is history, tomorrow most uncertain, so enjoy the present day!

Well, we had a good plan, a plan we stuck to, getting from Florida to Prudhoe Bay. Since then we have no definite plan other than ending up somewhere in California. We meet people along the way, they suggest routes and places to visit and we make it up from there, quite fun actually.
