There is only one thing I want to be doing at 04:30, and that’s sleeping! Not so today. The ferry leaves at 07:00 and we have to be there at 05:00 to check in. Most of our gear was already packed the night before and the remainder didn’t take all that long to throw on the bikes. It’s still dark out but at least the rain has stopped. Once checked in we just sat and waited… if you think waiting at an airport is boring, try the Alaska Marine Highway terminal! Apart from a vending machine there is nothing! The rain had started again so didn’t feel like going outside either.
Once on the ferry we picked a spot in the observation lounge and had a nap, or tried… not sure, I don’t function well if I get up at o’stupid!
Eventually Rob, our Canadian friend found us there (he has our spare tires). The rest of the trip was spent looking out the window, playing on the phones, occasionally a whale was spotted. It was a long 7 hours.
We arrived in Prince Rupert around 14:30 and spent the next 40 minutes waiting to go through immigration, in the rain… Good times! Once back in Canada we stopped on the side of road, took our tires back and went into town to find food (we skipped the ferry meals his time).
From Prince Rupert we rode 2 hours to Terrace in light drizzle and found a camping spot at the Ferry Island campground. The rain had eased up but everything was still very damp. Zoe lit a fire to get some warmth we set up the tarpaulin over our tent just in case.
It was an early night for us, the day had been long enough.
Hopping on Ferries to get from A to B from one Island to an other is a choice you had to make. The weather on the other hand is unfortunately something you cannot control ” that’s a tough one for you isn’t it Tanguy ? ” Anyway, no other solution. Welcome back in Canada !
You both did made it back on the saddle of your Beamers the weather permits ! Finally back on the road again… or do you still have to take more Ferries ?
Very nice of the person who carried your tires all along his voyage till you guys finally arrived to pick them up again !
I’m already curious to read more about where you are heading from now on….Don’t let us wait for 10 more days this time… Wifi ? Ohoo Wifi where are you ? 😉

Ahaa !.. This time you can ride over the Galloway Rapids Bridge, no Ferry to take ! That’s convenient ! All the way up to Terrace and…..
Come and see next week for the continuing story of 2advriders … Next week ? Oh no can’t wait that long !

Now this was an uneventful day, from early rise to early down with a phone-playing ferry ride in between.
Back in Canada means much better quality of food although I didn’t spot any mention of that.
Guess you’ll be heading straight South to dry out in warmer climes.
Baci till then
