Today started the way a normal day for a normal human being starts. Woke up well rested from good nights sleep in a nice bed, had breakfast in a kitchen, brushed our teeth in a normal bathroom, all the things billions of human beings do daily… For us it is not so these days, between the tent and the hotels, we seem far removed from “normal” life. The host was a lovely lady and offered for Zoe to join her in her yoga class. In the meantime I caught up on a bit of work, sorted through (or at least started) the many pictures taken in Yellowstone, worked on the blog and ordered the parts & oil for the next service that will happen in Fairbanks.
I also realised in the process that I was missing a credit card, never a good thing!
Around noon we left the house, and headed for the last known place where the credit card was seen which was last nights dinner and I got it back, pfeeewwww!
As it was lunch time and the skies looked like rain was coming our way we stopped at the little creole restaurant for lunch. We eventually got on the road and moving. The weather seemed to be holding off and the roads were nice riding with lots of forest, wildlife (moose, deer…) and gentle curves but soon enough the weather, once again, turned on us. The rain wasn’t heavy but consistent and enough to reduce the fun level a bit.
We eventually popped out of the rain and the skies opened up for us. With some sunshine and patchy blue skies we stopped to stretch our legs and rest our backs and shoulders. We found a nice little place in Swan lake that had just opened up for the season. The owners were awesome people, I had a long chat with them while Zoe relaxed in their lounge chairs in the sun. (I was abit beat up after this long overdue yoga session-catered to me for opening up my neck and shoulder muscles once again! So good!-Z) If you ride along the MT 83 to or from Glacier national park be sure to stop in there for a coffee or some souvenirs.
From there it was a short ride to our next campsite near big fork. We found a spot, built our home for the nights to come and set off into Historic Big Fork town for dinner. Big Fork is a quaint little town with many restaurants and art shops which, for the time of the year, appeared to be rather busy.
We had a nice dinner at the “Grille 459” which boasts a variety of dishes that stand out from the normal ‘american’ restaurant. We endulged in a variety of seafood dishes followed by a lovely molten chocolate desert. A great change from the salads, burgers or Mexican meals we usually end up settling for (generally not by choice but more by necessity)

Compared to busy and lively Yellowstone the last days must have been a bit dull.
But to get where you plan to end up, it takes miles of riding, roads pleasant or not.
Montana, last stop before Canada.
I noticed all along that food is not a great speciality over there.
Well, hear from you in Canada!

Luckily you got your credit card back ! You’ll be more careful from now on…I’m sure !
It’s good to make a halt from time to time and put some stuff back in good order like new tires, oil and a good wash for the bikes, and for you two as well ha ! A bit of proper food, a good rest, a good wash and make a long phone call home 😉 Thanks for that.
Take care and hope to read and see you tomorrow !

Sure was nice meeting you two never say never maybe will meet again.
Who knows maybe on the way back down!
