11,000kms… we have done over 11,000 Kms since leaving Florida on March 29th and it’s time for the machines to get serviced. Zoe has some friends in Boulder whom we planned to visit and the timing couldn’t have been better. Boxes of parts were waiting for us and so was a bottle of rose!
On Saturday we went into Denver to get some shopping done, some warmer clothing, new hiking shoes and motorcycle gear and parts. Traffic into and out of Denver was thick and luckily for us Tim lent us his truck for the day. Doing this town run on the bikes would have been a painful experience.
When we came back to the house a bottle of wine was waiting and we had picked up some cheeses, olives and procciuto to enjoy on the deck before diner. We enjoyed the last rays of sunshine, talking to friendly hosts, and watching the wildlife running though the yard.
The following morning Tim and Anne invited us for breakfast at ‘The Mercantile’ in Jamestown a short scenic drive away. Once back home Zoe and I started on the bikes. A good wash first and then some spanner swinging. I had a few tiny issues to fix on my bike and Zoe needed new grips in addition to the routine maintenance. The day ended once again with a bottle of wine and an a nice dinner. Monday was once again spent working on the bikes followed by a clean up session of the garage. (Edit: I went into town to run errands and discover Boulder town, a very hip Uni-friendly place. Good shopping and food at the Pearl st mall! -Zoe)
Tim and Anne were great hosts and looked after us very well and allowing us to use the garage as a workshop really helped us out a lot. The bikes are now ready for their next 10,000 Kms and we had an nice break catching up on laundry and rest.
