After a luxurious night in a king bed, we had a hearty and cheap breakfast at the same diner across the road where we had dinner. After filling up we mucked around, T with his computer, I chatted to the Harley guys again (they were just in front of us on the Devils Highway) who told me more great roads in the Sedona area to check out.
I had a look around the local museum which included petrified wood, old flour mills and Indian artefacts that I stumbled upon while picking up Arizona street maps. We got on the bikes and carried on to Pinetop-Lakeside, where we stopped at Darbi’s Cafe. Two delicious and huge salads later, we carried on through the winding mountain road. The scenery was similar to yesterday, lots of pine trees, meadows, and even a ski resort with snow still on the slopes. Snow on the side of the road meant we were wearing extra layers as the breeze was not warm.
We are also passing a lot more bikes now we are in the mountains, including BMWS and all types of touring bikes.
Pretty much spent the whole afternoon in the saddle until we arrived at Flagstaff’s KOA, base for the next few days. Unfortunately pretty packed due to it being Easter weekend – all the state park camping looked full! Made good use of the laundromat then headed out to an authentic gem of an Italian Restaurant for dinner. Must say I was happy to finally see absolutely no Mexican/tortillas on the menu!

Happy Easter for both!
Nice roads one day after the other, using the funny side of the tyres.
Happy with your daily updates.

Happy Easter to both of you guys ! Maybe it’s a little cold up there but rain would be worse isn’t it ? So you’re lucky.
The gift shop in Springerville looks very nice,
Italian food to finish the day …. not bad for an Easter Week-End I would say 🙂
Thanks for the nice pictures you’re sending us and I like your stories. They almost make me feel on the way with you…. almost……;-)
See you tomorrow than… take care and “# have a good good night…. Oooohoooo….#
