Day 5 and 6 were rest days… for the Beemers anyway! For us they were busy and anything but rest days. We explored New Orleans by foot walking up and down the many streets of the French Quarter and Margny, stopping to listen to the music pouring out of every bar in town, strolled through the markets, gazed at the many old buildings and enjoyed some of the local cuisine.
We learned a few things about the history of the town, it’s past, it’s ghosts and voodhoo took a short cruise on the Mississippi River onboard the “Nachez” a real steam paddle boat and watched tourists make fools of themselves on Bourbon street!
Our 2 days in New Orleans were busy and very pleasant, it was a great break from the long riding days behind us and those to come. We could of course spend way more time here but it’s time to push on to the west, plenty more places to discover.

Any signs left of the big Katrina flooding?
Enjoy the next leg of the trip!

Hard to say, the roads are terrible but I thinks that’s always been the case! On the outskirts of town there were a lot of car wrecks in the Forrest, I think that’s from the floods
Looks like a pleasant place to stay for a while indeed ! Cela swing !
