Christmas week end 2

Christmas week end was spent doing some more prep work on the bikes. Mainly on the 650 but the Bumble bee got some attention too.

“650” got  a few upgrades and apart from a new rear shock absorber and new chain & sprockets she is pretty much good to go.

The forks were fitted with Ricor intiminators and 5W fork oil. Not too sure how much of an improvement it is, quite frankly I hardly noticed any difference.

While the forks were out I checked the front wheel bearings, still in good nick

I added the Booster Plug and an DWA alarm, General check up in the “brains” reset fault codes and programmed the Alarm. The GS911 tool has come in very handy on many occasions.

I removed that horrible charcoal canister and installed a scottoiler in its place. Much more useful!

And finally the highway pegs were installed.

The Bumble Bee got a long overdue health check up by ways of the GS911 tool, cleared some fault codes and check the air temperature after the installation of the Booster Plug and sure enough it read about 20 degrees C below ambient temperature. Thats working!

Next up I added a couple of Bell cycle drink bottle holders that I picked up at Target, cheap and cheerful at $4 a piece. none of that Touratech overpriced stuff this time! They will hold the lube oil and gear oil bottles. Found a good spot for them above the pillion pegs.

And since there was time left in the day I packed together all the small lightweight spares and tools that will only need to be used in a pickle and packed in a box and dry-bag under the top box.
